What’s your favorite pie? I love them all, but I must say there is something special about a home baked apple pie! I love the aroma of freshly baked apples combined with nutmeg, cinnamon and ginger drifting through the house on a cold winter day. This one is reminiscent of my Grandma Rose’s French Apple Pie. The buttery, crumbly crust filled with sugar and cinnamon coated apples…MMMMM! Here is something special to get your weekend off to a sweet start. I used Granny Smith apples; somehow the tartness of that particular apple offsets the sweetness of the crumble topping and creates a wonderful taste sensation. Speaking of crumble topping, I used oatmeal in addition to flour and brown sugar. As it baked, it formed a lovely browned crust. This is a yummy dessert recipe for your Sunday dinner! Try this one and let me know how it turns out! Have a happy weekend, everyone!
