Garlic Lemon Broccoli

Good morning!   It’s time for something really healthy, fresh and delicious!  We all know the health benefits of broccoli, right?  You know: nutrients such as iron, zinc, and it is a powerful antioxidant, as well!  The problem is, broccoli can be a little….shall we say, boring at times?  (You know it’s true!)   Well, not anymore!  Here is a nutritious, healthy and delicious recipe that features not only broccoli but also fresh garlic, lemon and olive oil!  Five simple ingredients and that’s it!   All healthy and tasty!  This is an easy, fast recipe that will pair well with any entrée or main course!  And the great part is, everyone loves it!  No more trying to force feed broccoli to the gang!  They will love this and ask for seconds!  What’s better than that?  This recipe serves 4 to 6.



Garlic Lemon Broccoli

2 Large Heads of Broccoli, washed and cut into bit sized pieces

5 Cloves of Garlic, cleaned and finely chopped

1/4 Cup Olive Oil

1/3 Cup Lemon Juice

1/3 Cup Dry White Wine

Chop garlic finely and saute in olive oil in large skillet over medium high heat until lightly browned, about 8 to 10 minutes.


Add chopped broccoli, lemon juice and wine.




Cover, lower heat to medium and let simmer until broccoli  is of desired tenderness, about 10-12 minutes,  stirring occasionally.  This yields a tender-crisp broccoli.  If you prefer your broccoli softer, then let it steam for a few minutes longer.


This recipe serves 4 to 6 and can be doubled.
